Investigations underway into cause of explosion which interrupted production in an area of the building
Hanover, Germany – ContiTech has reported a boiler explosion at a unit on Continental's Hanover-Vahrenwald site, impacting several workers and halting production there.
The blast in ‘building 28’, on 6 March, caused visible damage, with windows shattered and window frames torn out, ContiTech confirmed to ERJ.
One person was slightly injured and attended to in hospital, while six others were treated by the company’s medical service, said the written statement supplied 7 March.
Continental's own plant fire department, the Hanover professional fire department, rescue services and the police attended the incident.
Investigations are underway into the cause of the explosion, which has interrupted production in the affected area of building 28, ContiTech further noted.
