Local production of 20 inch lines will service premium car segment
Bahadurgarh, India – Yokohama India has expanded its range and size of locally-manufactured tires at its Bahadurgarh factory, in response to new demand.
With the consumer market for premium cars and SUV growing, the subsidiary has now begun production of 20 inch tires.
The firm said it has the capacity for handling larger sizes, up to a maximum of 24 inches.
The most recent addition to the company’s production line is the Geolander X-CV (GO57), aimed at the high-end SUV segment, with advanced silica compounds, 2-ply sidewall and asymmetrical tread.
Head of marketing Gaurav Mahajan said demand reflected an expanding demand together with better road infrastructure.
In addition, Yokohama’s Indian subsidiary boasts a network in excess of 3,000 retailers throughout the country, further enabling buyers’ access to products.
