Shipments of chloroprene rubber rose as demand recovered, although performance varied by region
Tokyo – Tosoh Corp.’s petrochemical division has increased revenue for the first three quarters of fiscal year 2025, ending 31 March, due in part to higher chloroprene rubber volumes.
For the nine-month period to end of December, the division reported a 40% increase in operating income to Yen12.4 billion (€78 million), on 11% higher sales of Yen159.1 billion (€996 million).
Tosoh linked the stronger results to “increased chloroprene rubber sales volume and improved cumene terms of trade.”
“Overall shipments of chloroprene rubber rose as demand recovered, although performance varied by region,” said Tosoh without providing further details.
In addition to CR, the petrochemicals division unit also produces ethylene, propylene, and cumene, which registered volume declines for the reporting period.
