Malaysian rubber gloves maker highlights effort to comply with initial EUDR enforcement deadline at end of 2024...
Shah Alam, Malaysia – Top Glove has delivered a first shipment to Europe of natural rubber gloves which is "fully traceable" to its plantation origins, the Malaysian group has announced.
The delivery in July, it said, showed Top Glove's commitment to comply fully with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) ahead of the initial 30 Dec enforcement deadline.
Furthermore, the Malaysian no. 1 gloves maker said it had received an ‘A’ in the MSCI ESG ratings in July, an improvement over its ‘BBB’ rating in 2023.
MSCI ESG ratings measure a company’s management of financially relevant environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities.
In addition, Top Glove released the results of a life cycle assessment (LCA) on its nitrile powder-free gloves and biodegradable nitrile powder free gloves in September.
The LCA revealed that CO2 emissions for the gloves were 8.3% lower than those of conventional nitrile gloves, said Top Glove, citing “continual efforts" to reduce the environmental footprint in its products.
