Paolo Pompei taking the helm at Nokian from start of next year

Finnish tire maker confirms that Pompei will take over the position of president and CEO on 1 Jan 2025
Nokia, Finland - Nokian Tyres has confirmed an earlier announcement that Paolo Pompei will take over as president and CEO of the tire maker, effective 1 Jan 2025.
Pompei is joining Nokian from Yokohama Trelleborg Wheel Systems, which he has led - under former parent Trelleborg and new owner Yokohama Rubber Co. - since 2017.
Succeeding Jukka Moisio, who will retire at the end of 2024, he is tasked to lead Nokian in its next phase of development 'towards a target on €2 billion net sales.'
Pompei has delivered continuous growth and strong financial performance in his earlier positions, accoriding to Jukka Hienonen, chair of Nokian.
He has a “very strong international experience from the tire industry and a deep understanding of the markets in central Europe and North America," added Hienonen.
