Toyo targets automotive unit efficiency with restructuring move

Creates new department to be led by Tomihiro Saki, currently president of Toyo Automotive Parts (USA)
Hyogo, Japan – Toyo Tire Corp. has announced an organisational change within its automotive parts business to enhance efficiency of operations at the unit.
The Japanese group has established a 'business operations department' within the automotive parts division, focusing on initiatives such as relocating production centres to "strategic locations".
The department has also been tasked to procure parts from "a wider choice of countries"; and strengthen export operations such as production/logistics strategies for the automotive parts business.
To lead the changes, Toyo has named Tomihiro Saki, currently president of Toyo Automotive Parts (USA) to concurrently take the position of general manager at the newly created department.
