Gumi, South Korea – Nitta Corp. has relocated its hose and rubber components manufacturing plant in South Korea to support growing trends such as new mobility and semiconductor industry.
Spanning 30,300 sqm with a building area of 21,700 sqm, the new site in Gumi is 2.3 times bigger than the previous plant and went into operation 1 Oct, Nitta announced.
To be operated by Korea Nitta Moore (KNM), the KRW 23 billion (€16 million) facility will produce hoses and polymeric tube systems for the automotive industry, hoses for general industry as well as fittings for pneumatics and semiconductors.
The move is part of Nitta’s "Shift 2030” strategy which targets “further globalisation" of the hose and tube product business in the mid- to long-term management plan.
The expansion, Nitta said, improves service to Korean companies, and strengthens supply to the semiconductor industry; the automotive industry, particularly new energy vehicles; and the secondary battery industry.
Nitta said it had introduced new production equipment, including extrusion lines and automatic assembly lines, at the new factory to increase and optimise production capacity.
