Bridgestone leadership reshuffle to support "glocal" strategy

Effective 2025, new key global functions of chief innovation officer and chief strategy officer will be created
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has announced a series of key management changes to take effect at the beginning of 2025, as the Japanese group prepares to implement its mid-term business strategy.
Approved by board of directors 18 Sept, the changes include the retirement of Masahiro Higashi - joint global chief operating officer, CEO of Bridgestone East and concurrently global chief administration officer – at the end of the year.
As of 1 Jan 2025, Nobuyuki Tamura will take over as EVP and CEO of Bridgestone East while maintaining his current position of VP in charge of mining, industrial, construction and aviation (MICA).
Yasuhiro Morita, VP and group president of Asia-Pacific, India and China, and chairman of Bridgestone China will take over as chief administration officer and the newly created function of chief strategy officer.
Furthermore, SVP and executive officer Masato Banno will be promoted to EVP and will maintain his role as global technology officer.
VP and president of Bridgestone West, Scott Damon will be promoted to SVP and will take on the role of Bridgestone West Mobility Solutions group president.
Europe-based Emillio Tiberio, currently VP and Bridgestone West chief technology officer will maintain his position as SVP.
Tomohiro Kusano, VP in charge of ‘green transformation’ will take over as SVP to lead the newly created function of chief innovation officer.
With the changes, Bridgestone said its overall global management structure which will evolve into “a new and true glocal – (global and local) – management structure in 2025.
