Passenger car tire facility, to be built in Primorsky Krai, set for commissioning in 2027
Primorsky Krai, Russia – Russia is planning to build a new passenger car tire manufacturing plant in Primorsky Krai, in the eastern region of the country bordering China and North Korea.
In a 5 Sept statement, the Far East and Arctic Development Corp. (FEDC) said it had entered an agreement with wholesaler Vlad-Garant LLC to build a RUB10 billion (€100 million) tire plant.
The facility, set for commissioning in 2027, will create over 130 jobs, said FEDC without providing further details on capacity and product types.
The goal of the project, according to the company, is to strengthen the industrial potential of Primorsky Krai while providing the Russian automotive industry with “high-quality tires.”
Based in Vladivostok, Vlad-Garant is preparing an application to obtain the status of “resident of the priority development area.”
The status, said FEDC, provides the company with “benefits and preferences that will significantly speed up the implementation of the project.”
“Primorsky Krai has all the necessary resources and infrastructure to build a plant of this level,” said Kirill Kamenev, deputy director general for investment attraction at FEDC.
The project, said Igor Zaitsev of Vlad-Garant LLC, will ‘significantly contribute’ to the economic development of Primorsky Krai.
