Courbevoie, France - Saint-Gobain has completed its divestment of Freeglass GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of exterior polymer components for the automotive industry.
The specialist in plastics glazing and related polymer technologies was sold to HF Opportunities GmbH, part of Hannover Finanz, the French group announced 2 Sept.
With its industrial plant located in Schwaikheim in Germany, Freeglass generated sales of close to €20 million in 2023 and employs around 120 people.
Freeglass’ areas of expertise include overmoulding of automotive glazing components using technically adhesive elastomers.
The process, it says, enhances customers’ design options for the implementation of sealing and the integration of the plastic components into the structure of the vehicle.
