Saudi Aramco-owned synthetic rubber supplier will fight claim that it infringed rival's lithium-ion battery materials IP
The Hague, The Netherlands – Dutch-based synthetic rubber major Arlanxeo has strongly rejected an accusation of IP infringement levelled against it by Japanese competitor Zeon Corp.
In a 22 Aug written statement to ERJ, the Saudi Aramco-owned supplier said it was aware of the allegation that Arlanxeo Deutschland GmbH had infringed on a German patent owned by Zeon.
It then stated: "Arlanxeo manufactures and sells synthetic rubber in full compliance with applicable laws, denies any such infringement, and intends to defend itself vigorously in court.”
On 21 Aug, Tokyo-based Zeon Corp. announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Arlanxeo over an alleged infringement of Zeon’s German patent on lithium-ion battery materials.
The 9 Aug complaint, said Zeon, “seeks an injunction against further infringement as well as compensation for damages related to Arlanxeo’s manufacture and sale of the relevant products in Germany.” (ERJ report)
