Move in response to growing demand, particularly in Indian automotive industry
Tokyo – Zeon Corp. is expanding its technical support team for synthetic rubber products in India in response to “growing market demand.”
In a statement 31 July, Zeon said that, until now, technical support for the Indian market was primarily provided by staff based in Singapore and other countries.
To bolster its support services, the Japanese group has now put in place a team of “full-time local staff” with technical expertise in synthetic rubber.
This, it said, will accelerate "provision of high-demand technical support, including advice on formulating synthetic rubber compounds, vulcanisation conditions, and compound properties.”
With the new team, Zeon now has six technical-support bases for elastomer products: in Japan, the US, Germany, China, Singapore, and India to ensure “accurate responses to regional needs.”
In India, the group said it has seen "growing demand” for its elastomer products, particularly speciality synthetic rubbers used in automotive parts.
With India set for rapid economic growth, Zeon expects an increase in volume of car production leading to increased demand from the industry.
Zeon's Indian subsidiary Zeon India Private Ltd. has been operational in Gurgaon, India since 2015: supplying synthetic rubbers, latexes, chemicals as well as materials for lithium-ion batteries.
