Kraiburg TPE elastomer 'wired' to meet EV charger requirements

TPE specially tailored to withstand harsh environmental conditions and provide durability
Waldkraiburg, Germany – Kraiburg TPE has developed a new thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) materials for electric vehicle (EV) chargers, the company has announced.
The Thermolast K compound is tailored to withstand harsh environmental conditions and provide durability, and ensure safe and reliable performance.
Features of the TPE series include "excellent" adhesion to polypropylene, providing "enhanced versatility and broadening its application range in EV charger manufacturing."
During production processes, scrap material can be recycled and reused, thereby cutting down on material waste and costs while conserving resources, added Kraiburg TPE.
The series is said to comply with rigourous regulations, including those covering flammability, outdoor weathering, and applications in desert conditions,
The company added that the TPEs allow for customised colors to meet specific design and branding requirements of the EV vehicle.
Application targets for the Thermolast K series also extend to areas including roof racks, water deflectors, cowls gaskets, air guide elements, air intake ducts and door trims.
