Ends lawsuit in France concerning technology to increase the performance and service life of tires
Clermont-Ferrand, France - Michelin Group has entered a settlement agreement with Continental in a legal dispute over the use of a technology to enhance the durability of tires.
The ‘suit’ concerned the commercialisation in France of Continental’s 315/45R22.5 EcoPlus HD3 tire, said a statement issued 9 July by the French group.
The row, it stated, centered on certain aspects of Michelin’s Infinicoil technology and “has been settled to the satisfaction of Continental and Michelin.”
Infinicoil features a steel wire, up to 402 metres long, wrapped around a tire to increase its stability and durability throughout its service life.
In its brief press release, Michelin said it “will continue to enforce its intellectual property rights and to be an engine of innovation.”
