Trelleborg supplies antivibration mounts for new airport rescue firefighting vehicle
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg has supplied antivibration mounts for a new airport rescue firefighting vehicle from Naffco, a UAE-based manufacturer of fire and safety equipment.
While a typical fire trucks must be stationary to pump fire, the airport rescue firefighting (ARFF) can spray water or foam at a rate of 10,000 litres per minute while approaching a moving plane.
Tackling a fire while rolling can produce a huge amount of vibration, which threatens the safety of the crew and the integrity of the sensitive equipment inside the vehicle, according to Naffco managing director Ali Al-Khatib.
To address that, Naffco has employed Trelleborg antivibration mounts, which are designed to reduce the transmission of vibration and shock to the vehicle’s chassis and crew during the “pump & roll” process.
The mounts, according to Trelleborg, are “durable, reliable and easy to maintain, and ensure that the vehicle operates smoothly in the most challenging environments.”
Naffco, according to Al-Khatib, has sold “hundreds” of ARFFs so far and is planning to manufacture more than 200 vehicles in 2024.
