Toronto, Ontario – Black Swan Graphene Inc. has launched a new graphene enhanced masterbatch (GEM) product designed to improve the properties of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs).
Labelled GEMbB25K, the product is claimed to enhance tensile strength and elasticity of TPUs: allowing end-product weight-reductions of up to 25%.
Furthermore, the masterbatch can also improvem 'other mechanical performance aspects' of the urethane materials, said Black Swan's 9 July release.
Target applications for the graphene-enhanced masterbatch include fan belts, conveyor belts, mobile phone covers, cable covers, consumer goods, and footwear.
This is the fourth GEM product launched by Black Swan, following “rigorous industrial trials,” according to the company's CEO Michael Edwards.
“We have garnered commercial interest from several potential customers... in various industries, including clothing, inflatables, and sporting goods,” he reported.
