“Japanese market is extremely important, not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also from a global perspective…”
Tokyo – Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has named company veteran Ramy Elsabee as president and CEO of its Japan operations, effective 1 July.
Elsabi joined Goodyear in 2006 at its headquarters in Akron, Ohio, and has served in “a wide range of management positions” at the company over the years, said the US tire maker 11 July.
He has held positions in sales, marketing, business development and operations management, across Goodyear operations in the US, Europe, the Middle East and China
"For Goodyear, the Japanese market is extremely important, not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also from a global perspective,” said Elsabi upon appointment.
The market represents many major car makers that are headquartered in Japan, and the country has “one of the most developed automotive industries in the world.”
In particular, Elsabi said Japan provided a “stable” high-value aftermarket where Goodyear can achieve growth.
Goodyear does not operate a production facility in Japan and supplies to the market from overseas facilities.
