Company says impact limited to expanded polystyrene production line at Polish polymer site...
Oswiecim, Poland – Synthos Group has provided more information about a 21 June fire at its chemicals & polymers manufacturing facility in Osweicim.
The fires, said Synthos in a 28 June update, broke out during the start-up of an expanded polystyrene production line at the site.
The company said it has declared force majeure in connection with the incident and the installation has been temporarily stopped.
The fire, however, did not have any impact on other installations, which are operating “uninterrupted,” the Polish group stated.
The Synthos site produces a wide range of chemical & polymer products, including synthetic rubber, styrenic plastics, latices and chemical raw materials.
