Continental Tires names new general manager for China
Tang Mingyou takes up position as first Chinese manager of the China operations 8 July
Hefei, China – Continental Tires (China) Co. has appointed Tang Mingyou to the position of general manager, effective 8 July.
Previously national sales director of Continental Tires China, Tang Mingyou will lead the company's business development in China.
He is the first Chinese general manager of the tire business unit in China and is tasked to “continue to promote Continental Tires' strategic layout and localised development in the market,” said Continental 9 July.
Véronique Giraud, the former general manager of China, will serve as the general manager of Continental Tires France.
Tang Mingyou joined Continental Tire in 2007 and has nearly 20 years of “practical experience in local industry operations and management.”
He has been responsible for the truck and bus tire and passenger car tire replacement market-related businesses of Continental Tire.
Throughout his career, Tang Mingyou has made “remarkable achievements in promoting brand sales growth in China, increasing market share, strengthening customer relationships,” Continental said.
Continental operates one tire production facility in Hefei, China, which produces passenger car, truck & bus as well as racing tires for the Asia Pacific region.
The German tire maker recently completed the fourth phase of expansion at its tire manufacturing plant in Hefei, brining total investment in the plant to over €1 billion.
The expansion boosts capacity at the plant by 4 million units a year, to a total of 18 million units of passenger car and truck & bus tires by 2027. (ERJ report)
