Initial efforts to be focused on development of an ELT pyrolysis project in Koriyama, Japan
Vancouver, Canada — Waste tire pyrolysis companies Klean Industries Inc. and L4T have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore joint projects for end-of-life tire (ELT) recycling globally.
The two companies intend to “collaborate by sharing their business strengths to develop and create integrated and holistic manufacturing & recycling solutions,” said Vancouver-based Klean Industries in a recent statement.
Initial efforts will be directed to the development of the first project to be located in the city of Koriyama (Fukushima prefecture), 230km from Tokyo.
A significant component of the partnership will be the use of the two companies’ technologies and local networks in the project.
Klean Industries, said the statement, has a “20-year track record of working in Japan where it has built reference tire pyrolysis plants.”
The Canadian recycler also claims to have developed “well-established relationships with both feedstock and offtake supply chain partners” that it will tap into during the project with L4T.
Spain-based L4T is also “strongly positioned in Japan,” with its subsidiary L4T Japan GK and “a strong network of partners, including one of the world’s largest suppliers of commodities,” Klean Industries added.
Building upon "strong relationship with Klean Industries", L4T aims to combine the two companies' knowledge and expertise to expand business operations, said Tilen Milicevic, CEO of L4T Group.
The MoU, according to Jesse Klinkhamer, CEO of Klean Industries, “establishes the framework to drive growth not seen before in the tire pyrolysis sector, with two well-established players.”
“By joining forces with L4T Group, our common goal is to accelerate the deployment of advanced manufacturing facilities,” Klinkhamer added.
