Alfagomma building naval hose production line at Italian military facility

Group also completes construction of a new hydraulic hose plant in Guaranesia, Brazil
Vimercate, Italy – Alfagomma is adding a new production line for the production of naval hydraulic hoses at the Stabilimento Militare Produzione Cordami, a site dedicated to defence manufacturing infrastructure in Naples, Italy.
The group has reached an agreement with the Italian defence agency (AID) to build a production line at the Castellammare di Stabia naval equipment factory, said Alfagomma in a recent statement.
According to the manufacturer, the Castellammare di Stabia factory is already active in the manufacture of naval cordage and equipment for the Navy’s fleet.
The new production line will add production capacity for a range of flexible hydraulic hoses for use on military and civilian vessels.
The added capacity will enable the ‘naval plant’ to increase its services to institutional and commercial customers, and progress the site’s revitalisation plans launches in 2021.
Separately, Alfagomma also reported that it had completed the construction of its new Dunlop Hiflex hose plant in in Guaranesia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The 7,000 sqm plant is located next to Alfagomma do Brazil headquarter and distribution facility and will be exclusively dedicated to the production of hydraulic fittings for the South American market.
Alfagomma do Brazil operations started in the country in 2013, assembling hydraulic hoses and fittings and the industrialisation of steel pipes.
