Japanese group links decision to 'continuous' increases in the cost of raw materials, utility and logistics
Tokyo – Zeon Corp. is increasing the prices for thermoplastic elastomer and hydrocarbon resins, the company has announced.
Prices for thermoplastic elastomer SIS – sold under the brand Quintac – will increase by Yen50/kg ($0.30/kg), effective 1 July.
Additionally, prices for hydrocarbon resin materials with brand name Quintone, will also be raised by Yen50/kg as of July.
The Japanese supplier said manufacturing and supply costs, including prices for raw materials, utility costs and logistics charges “have been continuously rising...”
These expenses, it added, are “far exceeding the limits of our internal cost-saving efforts.”
To maintain stable production and supply, the price revision was “unavoidable,” said the Zeon statement.
