Novi, Michigan - Cooper Standard will explain how it is enhancing vehicle thermal management at the ITB 2024 Thermal Management System and Materials Conference in Novi on 13 June.
At the event, Cooper Standard senior director of advanced fluid handling, Dr. Brian Cardwell will present a paper titled ‘Trends and novel solutions for efficient EV glycol thermal management.
Cardwell will highlight the key enablers to improving EV driving range, including both lightweighting of components as well as improving thermal-management performance.
The paper will address the size and complexity of glycol thermal management systems, as well as integration opportunities to improve overall system efficiency.
In this area, Cooper Standard is using advanced modeling, vertical integration, and lightweight polymer materials to develop integrated fluid coolant control products.
“Simplifying vehicle thermal management system and improving its efficiency are the keys to unlocking improved electric vehicle range, while also significantly reducing the cost of the battery,” said Cardwell.
“Our [latest] products significantly simplify fluid handling systems, improving efficiency and reducing vehicle weight to help achieve these goals,” he added in a release previewing his presentation at the US conference.
