Enters partnership with Argentina-based tire dealer to offer full range of tires across South America
Colombo – Sri Lankan tire maker Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has extended its reach in South America with a recent partnership in Argentina.
The tire manufacturer said 6 June that it had started a partnership with Buenos Aires-based tire dealer Hernan Acosta, who will head GRI’s South America business.
Acosta will focus on expanding GRI’s business in Argentina and Brazil, where he has strong presence, as well as other countries such as Chile, Peru, Colombi, Uruguay and Mexico.
As part of the deal, Acosta will sign up dealers and distributors for GRI’s full range of tires – speciality and off-road tires – across South America, the Sri Lankan group also stated.
Furthermore, the tire dealer will seek to sign supply deals with OEMs, such as local forklift and tractor producers, particularly in Brazil, GRI added.
“We began by assembling a dedicated local team and forming strong partnerships with reputable dealers across 11 countries in the region,” said Acosta in a recent press release.
The move, he said, has allowed GRI to establish “a robust distribution network and lay the groundwork for market penetration.”
