Japanese group says it is facing “significant increases” in repair, labour and logistics costs
Tokyo – Asahi Kasei is revising up synthetic rubber prices amid increasing costs of materials and production, the Japanese group announced 15 May.
Effective 1 June, butadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber (oil extended, non-oil extended) will see price increases of “Yen45/kg or more”.
In addition to last year’s rises in costs of raw materials and auxiliary materials, the producer is now facing “significant increases in repair, labour, and logistics costs due to global inflation.”
“Under these circumstances, it has become difficult for our company to absorb the increased costs through our own efforts alone,” said Asahi Kasei.
