Move “underscores the European tire industry's commitment to driving technological advancement and sustainability.."
Brussels – The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) has become as associate member of the Global Data Service Organisation (GDSO) for tires and automotive components.
Established in 2022, GDSO is a collaborative platform that aims to standardise data-related aspects around tires and define solutions to access and exchange data.
The move “underscores the European tire industry's commitment to driving technological advancement and sustainability within the sector", said Adam McCarthy, ETRMA secretary general.
Digitalisation has an increasingly important role in supporting the circular economy, the association leader noted in the 13 May announcement.
Through the collaboration with GDSO, he added, ETRMA expects to support the development of solutions that facilitate online access to tire data.
Such solutions, McCarthy said, will form a basis for developing future digital tools to improve the safety, efficiency and environmental performance of vehicles.
