Coahuila governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas secured the new investment, which will generate thousands of jobs, the Mexican inward investment agency said 3 May.
The tire-plant project, its statement noted, is the first of several investments that the state will see following the governor's tour in Asia.
"From Shanghai, together with our Pro Coahuila team and the president of ZC Rubber, we formalised the announcement of this major Asian company's investment in Coahuila," it added.
"The cash register has already started ringing on this economic tour, and more announcements are coming in the next few days," Salinas further commented in the statement.
After visiting the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the delegation from Coahuila travelled to Shanghai for meetings and to announce new investments, noted the release.
