Effective 20 May, price revision to reflect high raw materials, logistics and fixed costs
Tokyo - Tosoh Corp. is increasing the prices of its chloroprene rubber products, effective 20 May.
The price revision will cover all grades of ‘Skyprene’ branded rubber, including sulphur-modified grades which will see a “Yen57/kg or more” increase, the Japanese supplier said.
The group will increase the prices of 'other grades' by “Yen47/kg or more”, said a Tosoh statement 23 April.
Tosoh said it has been implementing various measures for some time to reduce costs, save labour, and increase the efficiency of logistics.
“However, increases in raw material prices, fixed costs, and logistics costs due to soaring prices have far exceeded the limits of our own efforts,” it added.
The price increase will help continue the business and maintain a stable supply in Japan, according to Tosoh.
