Italian unit to support developments for electric-vehicle manufacturers and parts suppliers in the region
Midland, Michigan – Dow MobilityScience has expanded its R&D capabilities in Europe with the opening of a ‘studio’ in Correggio, Italy.
The facility will support collaborations with tier-suppliers and OEMs in developing technologies for the automotive industry, the US group said 10 April.
Supported by Dow engineers, the studio will focus on the introduction of 'sustainable' technologies for the mobility market in Europe.
The Italian studio will be the third of its kind: in addition to Dow MobilityScience facilities in Midland, Michigan and Lake Jackson, Texas.
The studios are said to offer collaborative workspaces for acoustic and powertrain testing, particularly for “fast-moving automotive applications.”
These units, continued Dow, can create “tailor-made” noise, vibration & harshness (NVH), sealing, powertrain and fluid transfer systems.
Correggio will serve as a hub for "Dow’s technical and commercial experts to connect with the European mobility industry,” said Ryan Smith, global marketing director for Dow MobilityScience.
The collaborations, according to the Dow executive, will help to drive forward important investments within the EV market.
“Electrification is the future of mobility and Dow [will help] to provide much of the toolbox needed by our global partners,” concluded Smith.
