Signs deal with local government in Ningbo area for €380-million project to produce SSBR/LCBR
Zhejiang, China – Chinese materials supplier Zhongzhe Group is set to establish a Yuan3 billion (€380 million) synthetic rubber manufacturing plant in eastern Chinese port of Ningbo.
The group has signed a deal with the local government of Beilun district, Ningbo, to build the 200 kilotonne per annum facility in an area of 189 acres, said a 7 March press release.
The unit, said Zhongzhe Group, will produce styrene solution butadiene rubber (SSBR) and low-cis butadiene rubber (LCBR) for the production of “high-performance green tires for new energy vehicles”.
The project will involve “high-end synthetic rubber production equipment” to rival the mainstream international imported products and substitute imports.
The facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2025, the group's statement added.
