Tests to be launched ahead of plans to commercialise “next-generation” tire
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has announced that it will begin demonstration experiments in March under a plan to commercialise “next-generation" airless tires.
Demos of the Air Free branded tires will be carried out on public roads near Kodaira City, Tokyo, where the Bridgestone Innovation Park is located.
Air Free tires will be installed on a test vehicle, and its performance analysed in various public road environments that replicate actual usage conditions.
“In the future, we aim to expand value through co-creation with various partners,” added Bridgestone in a 29 Feb statement.
“We will also aim to achieve even higher levels of security and safety by making the most of the air-free, non-puncture feature and combining this with autonomous driving,” it added.
