Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Group has named Juergen Bosch as the new business area president of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) and member of group management effective from 1 April.
Bosch is currently heading the global aerospace business as well as ‘industrial Europe’ within TSS, Trelleborg announced 14 Feb.
He will replace Peter Hahn who has decided, after 23 years at Trelleborg, including seven years as TSS president, to continue his work in the group as senior advisor focusing on development projects.
“Juergen Bosch has shown strong leadership and good results for many years,” said groupu president and CEO Peter Nilsson.
“He will continue to lead the growth journey within industries such as aerospace, semiconductors, food processing, robotics and automation,” he added.
An important task for Bosch will be to realise the “full synergies” from Trelleborg’s recent acquisitions, the group leader added.
The appointment came on the same day as Trelleborg announced plans to create a new business area Trelleborg Medical Solutions.
The new business area will consist of the healthcare & medical operations within the TSS, including the signed acquisition of Baron Group. (ERJ report)
The new organisational change at TSS will come into effect 1 April.
Trelleborg said the new business area will reinforce its focus on the “fast-growing healthcare and medtech industry”.
The new business area will be headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota and led by Linda Muroski, currently head of global healthcare & medical as well as ‘industrial Americas’ within TSS.
According to Trelleborg, the healthcare and medtech markets are projected to grow more than 5% annually, driven by increased healthcare spending, an ageing population, a growing middle class and rising demand in the Asia-Pacific region.
Trelleborg Medical Solutions will offer a broad portfolio of polymer-based systems for both medtech and biopharma.
The business area is expected to initially generate sales of about SEK 3.6 billion (€320 million) proforma on a yearly basis, including the acquisition of Baron Group.
The operations will comprise fourteen production facilities and four tool and innovation centres globally.
Sales and production are geographically largest in North America, followed by Asia and Europe.
