Hangzhou, China – Zhongce Rubber Group Co., Ltd (ZC Rubber) has issued more details about its project to establish a tire manufacturing plant in Indonesia. (related ERJ report)
The new facility, located in Semarang and covering 500,000m2, is currently under construction which is expected to be completed within 10 months, said a ZC Rubber release supplied 2 Feb.
Production at Indonesian facility will “address the local demand for high quality tires across everyday consumer applications and logistical needs,” said the tire maker.
In reply to ERJ's request for more details, a company spokeswoman said "we are not yet ready to reveal tire types and capacity for the new plant."
The plant will deliver “tires to meet the demand of both local consumers and key overseas markets such as the US,” ZC Rubber VP Henry Shen did say in the release.
“This investment showcases our commitment to excellence and marks a pivotal step in our global expansion strategy," Shen further commented.
The location offers trade advantages and access to natural rubber resources, positioning Indonesia as an “ideal hub” for ZC Rubber's global growth plans, its statement continued.
The facility, it added, will be equipped with advanced digital technologies and staffed by highly skilled professionals able to deliver top standards of quality and innovation.
