Freudenberg names new technology, finance chiefs in management rejig

Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg Group is repositioning its management board as of 1 Jan 2024, in preparation for the upcoming retirements of incumbent board members.

As part of the move, Thomas Herr will become a member of the board of management and deputy chief financial officer (CFO) as of the beginning of the year.

In July next year, he will replace Dr Ralf Krieger who is retiring from the group after 30 years of service, said Freudenberg 2 Oct.

Dr Frank Heislitz will also become a member of the board of management of Freudenberg and deputy chief technology officer (CTO) at the start of 2024 – towards replacing retiring CTO Dr Tilman Krauch in July.

“This early decision on a structured succession allows an uninterrupted transition,” said Martin Wentzler, chairman of the supervisory board of Freudenberg SE.

The two new board members, Wentzler added, are “experienced experts as well as excellent leaders.”

With a PhD in mechanical engineering from Technical University of Darmstadt, Heislitz is currently chief executive officer at Freudenberg Performance Materials.

He has been employed at Freudenberg since 2001 and has “extensive management experience, including stints in China and in research and development.”

Herr has worked at Freudenberg for more than 25 years and was most recently CFO at Freudenberg Performance Materials.

As of 1 Jan 2024, the management board of the group will consist of:
Dr Mohsen Sohi (CEO), Dr Tilman Krauch (CTO) until his departure in June 2024, Dr Frank Heislitz (deputy CTO), Dr Ralf Krieger (CFO) until his departure in June 2024, Thomas Herr (deputy CFO) and Esther Maria Loidl, head of human resource.
