German-based rubber equipment maker appoints new MD for sales & service
Fridingen, Germany – Klockner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH (Desma) has appointed Siegfried Koehler (pictured right) as managing director sales & service, effective 1 Oct.
Koehler will ‘lead the company and assume responsibility for the four subsidiaries’ and thus around 500 employees on three continents. Desma said 4 Oct.
He will join Dr Michael Zaun (pictured left), who has been serving as managing director for the technical and operational areas at Desma since September last year.
Koehler previously worked with Italy-based ancillary equipment maker Piovan, where he established sales and service subsidiaries in Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.
He then moved on to work with Wittmann Battenfeld and Sumitomo Demag, and most recently served as co-CEO at the Frimo Group.
Koehler brings “many years of international sales experience in the fields of injection moulding machines, special machines, and automation,” stated Desma.
Regarding his new role, Koehler said the industry is currently operating “in a very volatile environment.”
This, said the sales & service MD, is giving rise to many new opportunities, which he expects to exploit at Desma.
