Company cites increasing costs of production in the US for price hike
Fort Worth, Texas – Tokai Carbon CB is raising prices on all carbon black grades in North America effective 1 Nov, or as contracts allow.
The manufacturer is also rolling in all surcharges associated with its US consent decree projects into its “permanent pricing structure”, said Tokai in a statement 11 Sept.
The carbon black supplier did not provide further details about the price increase, saying companies should contact their sales representatives for further information.
Tokai cited the increasing costs of carbon black production in the US as the reason for the price hike, noting that it had “invested significantly over the last five years to support US customers.”
The company added that it expected costs to "continue to escalate", including those related to environmental controls, reliability, safety, and personnel.
The carbon black supplier said it remained committed to “the highest standards of quality” and would aim to provide “the highest service levels for our customers”.
