TBR facility will be one of Bridgestone’s first plants globally able to produce its Enliten ‘technology stack’
Nashville, Tennessee – Bridgestone has staged a ground-breaking ceremony for its $550-million project to expand its truck and bus radial (TBR) tire plant in Morrison, Warren County.
Formally launched on 16 Aug, the previously announced project (ERJ report) will increase the workforce by 300 to 1,400 and expand plant-footprint by around 42% to 2.8 million square feet
With the investment, Bridgestone intends to facilitate the adoption of advanced production and product technologies, as well as raising output capacity of the site.
Warren County “will be one of the first plants globally with capability to produce our Enliten ‘technology stack’, optimised for rolling resistance and wear,” said Bridgestone.
All tires made at the plant will be equipped with RFID tags or enhanced asset-management and optimisation of fleets’ investments in tires, including retreading, it added.
Tires from the plant will, furthermore, incorporate integrated sensors, designed to “support advanced, data-driven insights for more efficient fleet management.”
Bridgestone will also invest in AI control technology “that increases productivity and the application of knowledge and data in a digital-manufacturing environment.”
Construction is expected to be “substantially” completed by the end of 2026.
