Orders include moulded gloves and Bandolier line charge system for military
Newmarket, Ontario – AirBoss of America Corp. has won two separate military supply contract worth up to US$22.3 million (€20 million).
The AirBoss Defense Group has been selected as a single source supplier of ‘Airboss moulded gloves’ (AMG) to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), said the group 5 July.
To be worth up to an aggregate amount of $18.5 million over a term of three years, the AMG contract is part of DLA’s glove programme.
ADG held the single source contract for the product before being selected as the supplier of choice again.
According to Airboss, the gloves have been designed to protect against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats and a wide range of toxic industrial chemicals.
In addition to that contract, the Airboss subsidiary has also been awarded a 12-month contract by an unnamed customer to supply its ‘Bandolier’ pre-packaged explosive charge.
Worth up to US$3.8 million, the contract is an expansion of the customer’s Bandolier programme.
The product is a lightweight and modular energetic system that can be employed across mobility, counter mobility, and survivability mission profiles.
With the two contracts, ADG continues to provide customers with “unique protective and survivability solutions,” said Chris Bitsakakis, president and COO of AirBoss.
“Providing DLA with this critical glove system… [will] ensure the safety of war fighters in austere environments and challenging conditions,” said Bitsakakis.
