Resource to facilitate input into consultation over proposals to ban all fluorine-containing chemicals and polymers
Wilmington, Delaware – Chemours Co. has set up a ‘customer advocacy portal’ in response to proposed EU restrictions on per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAs).
Requiring registration, the online resource is designed to facilitate industry input into a six-month consultation process over the proposals to ban all fluorine-containing chemicals and polymers.
Claimed to offer “everything you should know, and the support tools you need,” the portal will help clients provide “targeted feedback” on the potential impact of the restrictions.
Features include templates for submitting input to the public consultation and 'sector slides' that guide participants’ advocacy efforts as well as links to other resources.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) restriction proposal is “one of the most restrictive and broad regulatory actions ever contemplated globally,” Chemours said 11 May.
“Without the engagement of every level of the value-chain, it is expected to have severe business impacts across sectors and pose challenges for Europe at large,” added the chemicals supplier.
ECHA’s six-month public consultation for all interested parties began on 22 March.
