UK seals makers issue PFAs consultation advice

Wolverhampton, UK – The UK Gasket & Sealing Association (UKGSA) has issued advice regarding the proposed EU ban on fluorochemicals and fluoropolymers (See ERJ report).

This follows the European Chemicals Agency’s (ECHA) publication, on 7 Feb, of a preliminary restriction dossier for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs).

As part of the process, a public consultation is being conducted by the ECHA from 22 March to 22 Sept.

The Wolverhampton-based association is encouraging all member companies to participate in the consultation and share their views.

For this, UKGSA says an ‘advocacy toolkit’, produced by materials supplier Chemours, offers helpful information and advice concerning the consultation process.
