To market ‘Kraibon’ product family in most of Europe
Waldkraiburg, Germany – Rubber and silicone compound specialist Gummiwerk Kraiburg and German polymer and chemicals distributor Biesterfeld Spezialchemie have reached a sales and service agreement that covers almost all of Europe.
Under the agreement, effective 15 March, Biesterfeld will distribute the Kraibon product family in all of Europe with the exception of Italy and the UK.
Kraibon is a thin foil made of unvulcanised rubber and is employed in automotive, sport and leisure fields as well as many industrial applications.
The product is claimed to improve the performance of composites with regard to acoustics, light weight, splinter and impact resistance.
Its distinguishing features are “excellent” adhesion, flexibility and short cycle times in production.
Biesterfeld Spezialchemie said it had identified “considerable opportunities” in the cooperation.
Applications for the material, according to Biesterfeld, include sound insulation for laminates, flexible joining of fibre composite materials and optimised splintering behaviour.
