An important application will be safeguarding the label value in tire production
Hanover, Germany - At this year's Tire Technology Expo 2023, ZF Test Systems will display its newly launched tire test bench – the tire efficiency tester (TET).
The main task of the TET is to determine the energy efficiency and rolling resistance of a tire.
According to ZF, the machine provides a ‘simple design’ in all areas without compromising measurement accuracy.
The machine features no hydraulics and 100% electric drives have been used on the test bench.
This lowers energy requirements and significantly reduces maintenance, according to ZF.
When the drum is braked, the energy generated is stored and fed back into the system, said the German manufacturer explaining the mechanism of the equipment.
An important application of the machine will be safeguarding the label value in tire production.
It can also be used in development centres, with all other established test standards optionally available.
The TET has a drum size of 2m. It can generate a wheel load of 20kN and test tires at up to 250km/h. Tires up to 1m in diameter can be tested.
