Move part of larger site rationalisation plan, aimed at retaining talent
Essen, Germany – Evonik Industries AG is moving its North America headquarters from Parsippany, New Jersey, to Piscataway, 35 miles south of its current home location.
The official address change took effect on 1 Jan and the Parsippany head offices are be closed with the end of its lease later this year, said an Evonik statement.
The relocation is part of a larger site rationalisation plan, designed to ensure more efficient operations and future growth in North America.
Evonik added that it has embraced a hybrid work model in the region to consolidate office space, enhance employee-engagement, and increase employer attractiveness.
“For Evonik, moving towards a hybrid workplace is a strategic opportunity to attract and retain diverse talent and to enable an efficient real estate footprint,” said Bonnie Tully, president North America region.
“We want to foster conditions for growth, creativity, and innovation,” she added.
The new Piscataway HQ, said Evonik, has “the largest collaboration hub” in North America and is designed to support a hybrid and creative work environment for 160 employees.
Evonik has recently opened similar hubs at its sites in Richmond, Virginia, and Mobile, Alabama.
The German-based supplier aims to eventually create such hubs at six locations in North America.
According to Evonik, North America is an “essential growth market” for the group.
The region contributed 23% to Evonik's annual sales in 2021, making it the second-largest revenue source after Europe.
