Riyadh – Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh) and Saudi Top Plastic have signed an MoU to build a SAR100-million (€25 million) polymer compounding site in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement to the Saudi Stock Exchange Tadawul, Petro Rabigh said the facility would process 50 kilotonnes per annum of polymer compounds, rubber and industrial waxes.
Sited at the Rabigh PlusTech Park on the Saudi eastern coast, the facility will span an area of 34,000 square metres and be built in two phases, stated the 14 Dec filing by Petro Rabigh.
The company statement further added that Petro Rabigh will be supplying “polymer scrap materials, rubber and industrial wax” for the new factory.
Founded in 2005, the Petro Rabigh JV between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical manufactures refined hydrocarbons and petrochemicals, including ethylene propylene rubber.
