Final decision on second ELT plant still depends on access to ELTs and deliveries of recovered materials
Stockholm – Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) has announced the award of a construction permit for its planned end-of-life tire (ELT) recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden to property owner Fratera.
The permit, it stated 20 Oct, “pertains to the previously announced recycling plant that Enviro plans to establish on an industrial site in the Lillesjö district of Uddevalla Municipality, Sweden.”
Enviro recently obtained an environmental permit for its planned facility in Uddevalla to recycle up to 60,000 tons of ELTs per year.
A final decision on establishing the plant still depends on certain factors, including securing access to ELTs and agreements covering deliveries of recovered materials, Enviro pointed out.
If established, the facility would complement the Swedish recycler existing plant in Åsensbruk, Mellerud, which currently recycles 15ktpa of waste tires.
Under an aggressive expansion plan announced in May, Enviro aims to establish up to four new facilities per year to ultimately build 30 plants by 2030. Western Sweden and Central Europe have been identified as initial priority markets.
