Nokia, Finland – Nokian Tyres has acquired an industrial property at Pirkkalaistie 1 in Nokia, with the aim of supporting future growth.
With a total floor area of 27,000 square metres, the building is directly connected to Nokian’s headquarters and tire production facility, the Finnish tire maker said 13 Oct.
According to Manu Salmi, executive vice president, heavy tires, and head of Nokia factory, a use for the property has yet to be decided.
“However, larger spaces allow us more flexibility and opportunities to plan future operations and growth in Nokia", he stated.
Earlier in June, Nokian announced the acquisition of three hectares of land in Nokia, in the “immediate vicinity” of its existing headquarters site.
With the two acquisitions, Nokian said it intended to “secure future development opportunities at the Nokia factory.”
This latest acquisition, added Nokian, give the company close to 150,000 square metres of space along Pirkkalaistie.
