UK rubber-based products group say arrangement in place until new chief executive appointed
Melksham, UK – Avon Protection has named Bruce Thompson [pictured] as executive chair to head the company until a new CEO is appointed.
As signalled in May, CEO Paul McDonald stepped down from his position 30 Sept and the board named Thompson – previously a non-executive chair – to take charge from 1 Oct until a new CEO is in place.
In a statement 30 Sept, the Avon board said it was “well advanced” in the recruitment process for McDonald’s successor.
Thompson joined Avon Protection as non-executive chair designate in March 2020, having previously been CEO of Diploma PLC, the FTSE 250 specialised technical products and services business, for over 20 years.
