French compounder Benvic to have new owners

Dijon, France – Benvic Group is set to have new owners as current parent company PVC Europe Group (investindustrial) has agreed to sell the French compounder to strategic investor, International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG).

Subject to the consultation of Benvic’s works council in France and EU anti-trust approval, the closing of the contact is expected towards the end of the year, said Benvic in a 25 Aug statement.

As part of the deal, the financial terms of which were not disclosed, Benvic’s medical PVC compounding activities in Italy are expected to be retained by Investindustrial funds.

Benvic develops, produces and markets thermoplastic solutions based on PVC as well as thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and bio-polymers compounds.

The company reported sales of €500 million last year and employs 630 people.

Initially focused on PVC as a niche compounder, Benvic restructured its product line in 2020 to include other materials such as the Xtended range of solutions.

The technical polymers include polyolefins and thermoplastic elastomers which are produced in Spain and Italy.

According to Benvic, the materials are mainly used for producing cables, consumer goods, electric & electronic appliances, and in the automotive industry.

“Benvic has been transformed under Investindustrial’s ownership over the last four years.

“We have taken the company to the next stage of its development, strengthening our global position in the compounding industry and improving our product offering to our customers,” said Luc Mertens, CEO of Benvic.

The company, he said, aims to further accelerate its growth under the ownership of ICIG.
