Collaboration aims to create "a Bridgestone marketplace" for fleet operators
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has extended collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to use the company as a strategic cloud provider to support its sustainable mobility solutions.
As part of the agreement, Bridgestone will use AWS internet of things (IoT), machine learning, and analytics/business intelligence services, to speed up the creation of digital platforms for the launch of new solutions for its customers, improve data analysis and streamline IT operations.
Bridgestone will work with AWS's ProServe and AWS Marketplace teams to enhance its existing fleet solutions and bring concepts like “a Bridgestone marketplace” to life, said a statement by the Tokyo-based group.
The marketplace concept, said Bridgestone, will provide a broad selection of services and solutions to fleet managers to assess fleet needs and reduce vehicle downtime.
"Using AWS platforms, we will transform the way we provide services and solutions to our customers to enhance the digital customer experience,” said Paolo Ferrari, joint global COO, Bridgestone.
The collaboration, said Bridgestone, will mark “an important milestone” in the group’s recently unveiled 3.0 strategy, which aims to drive sustainability and improve solutions business.
This is the latest in a series of collaborations between Bridgestone and AWS, which according to the Japanese group have been working together for several years.
Most recently, the companies jointly developed a system that delivers insights derived from the interaction between a tire and a vehicle using advanced machine learning capabilities.
