Addition will enable US supplier to expand offerings across global markets
Downers Grove, Illinois - US supplier of ingredients and chemicals Univar Solutions Inc. has acquired Vicom Distribución Productos Quimicos SL, a distributor of chemicals in Spain and Portugal.
The acquisition will expand Univar's coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE) portfolio, enhancing its range of additives and increasing its presence in Europe, the company announced 1 Aug.
The Barcelona-based company, said Univar, “partners” with global suppliers, including ExxonMobil, Arkema, MLPC, Synthomer, Goodyear Chemical and Sidiac.
Vicom is a “highly complementary” fit, according to Nick Powell, president of global ingredients & specialties at Univar.
The acquisition, he said, will add “more value to our customers as we expand our solution offerings to meet trends and drive sustainable options as we continue growing together."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
